THE FRIENDS OF THE RIDERS TOUCHDOWN LOTTERY 2008 IS SOLD-OUT!

At 6:47 pm, October 8, 2008, Tom Shepherd, President of the Friends of Riders, made the announcement that the Friends of the Riders Touchdown Lottery 2008 has sold out 28 days in advance of its November 5th deadline. This smashes the previous record sell out by 6 days which was set last year.

Shepherd explained that due to the large amount of sales conducted today, it was impossible to conduct the Early Bird draws tonight as scheduled. These 18 special draws of $90,000 in prizes will now take place by 1 pm on Thursday October 9th.

With the record sell-out, the final draw date has been changed from November 5th to October 22nd at 4 pm. All lottery ticket holders are welcome to join Shepherd in the Harvard Broadcasting Green & White Lounge at Mosaic Stadium for the draw. Ticket holders can also listen to 620 CKRM Radio for an up-to-the-minute list of winners.

This year's final draw will include a record 1,125 major prizes valued in excess of over $1.46 million, including the grand prize of $100,000 cash and 15 2008 Ford vehicles.

Shepherd also announced with the 25,000 tickets sold a record profit of $750,000 will be turned over to the Roughriders. Unlike previous years where the money was used to pay down the debt, this year’s profit will go directly towards the future of the club.

To date the Friends of the Riders Touchdown Lottery has produced more than $11.4 million in lottery net profits to the club since its inception in 1986. During the same period over $16.8 million in prizes has been awarded to Rider fans with annual winners in over 200 different communities.

The results of both draws and a list of winners will appear in the October 24th editions of the Leader Post, the Saskatoon Star Phoenix and the Prince Albert Daily Herald. It will also be posted on the Riders website at www.riderville.com or on www.friendsoftheriders.com
